Strength and Conditioning

Growing up playing a lot of team sports the benefits of working together towards a common goal has always been drummed into me from a young age.

No matter who you are, or what your skill set. There is always a way you can contribute to a team. Every member has a role and in the right time and place there will always be a task that is up your alley and gives you your time to shine.

That sense of working towards something greater than ourselves, the feeling of other people relying on us, it all places added pressure and we don’t want to be the one to let the team down, so we naturally perform better and work harder than we otherwise would.

Plus success is always better when you get to share it with someone else. While it is still a great accomplishment a 10-year football premiership reunion with old teammates sounds like more fun than the 10 year anniversary of your individual under 19 archery tournament win.

You will also be amazed at how much supporting others can keep you on track and motivated to achieve your goals. Being involved in helping others do well will give you extra drive and determination to experience those same feelings of success.

This is also the reason we have a team-based training session every Saturday at the gym. People working together in groups of 2, 3, 4, 5 or more to achieve a common goal, everyone contributes and supports each other to finish the workout. Kind of like having a game day every week.

So if you need a kick up the butt to get moving, find yourself a team, crew, group, posse or club to join to get yourself working harder, more often and getting better results.
