Creating momentum

“I never worry about action, but only inaction.”

  • Winston Churchill

Are you still waiting for the perfect time to get started on that thing you have been planning on doing for the last 6 months? Getting fit, starting that side hustle, booking a holiday.

Sure I get it, the timing isn’t right, you need to save more money, have to get fit before you join a gym, you need to look after your neighbours aunties cat. The truth is there is always going to be infinite reasons as to why it isn’t a good time to started with your plans.

The timing rarely is perfect so we get tied down with planning or ‘paralysis by analysis’. Thinking about the best way to get things done, constantly over analysing our plans. Questioning whether it is the right thing to do? Will I fail, Is there a better way to do things?

All that over thinking often leads to us convincing ourselves that it is better not to even try. Fear and self doubt has killed more dreams than failure ever will.

Have you ever seen a new product come out and thought I had that idea years ago or tried something for the first time and thought I wish I had done this years ago.

Imagine if you had of acted on those impulses when you had them instead of overthinking and putting them in the too hard basket.

The only thing that is going to get you closer to the things that you want to achieve is action. Even if you are not 100% sure where you are heading, as long as you have a rough plan & idea, the details can be added in as you go, doing something is going to be better than sitting back and waiting. Because the thing with action is, it creates more action. It gets the ball rolling & will create more opportunities for more action, then before you know it one thing will lead to another and you are well on your way.

If you find yourself over analysing, find the 1 thing you can do today that will get you on your way.
